Fun fact: When I was little I always wanted to be an interior designer and have a gift shop. I became a teacher and didn’t do that exactly but always looked forward to decorating my classroom and coming up with an overall theme and color palette. Now as a Mama, that may be a little of the why I do just that when helping other Mamas create Bright and Festive homes too.
Check out my inspiration board for February that I’m using to keep things coordinated. Visit the links below to find 7 Ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day. And don’t fret Mama if you don’t get to all of it. These ideas are perfect all month long and if you still don’t get to them, pin this post for next year or mix it up and use for another holiday or everyday celebration.
DIY Heart PopTarts I made these last year using the Pioneer Women recipe found here and used a heart cookie cutter. You could mix up the cookie cutter for another holiday or everyday celebration and make them a different shape. You can change out the jelly you use to make the icing a different color too. Having a heart cookie cutter is perfect for the Heart Fruit Kabobs shared next as well as you can use them to make Heart Shaped Quesadillas. The possibilities are endless!
Since your family is most likely spending more time at home why not make some DIY Watercolor Heart Valentine’s to give out this year.
One of the easiest ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day is with some festive plates and napkins. Here is what I shopped for and sent to some other Mamas for February so their Party Pantry is stocked and ready to go. Scroll down to find two ways I used them to make lunch a little more bright and festive at our house.
As a teacher, I loved finding ways to add daily, monthly, or weekly themes. Now as I Mama I find myself wanting to do something similar but now don’t have all the time in the world or a team to collaborate with. I’ve also realized it doesn’t have to be over the top to be memorable so when looking for inspiration and ideas I look for things that are do-able and involve things you most likely already have on hand. As a Mama you should be able to have your cake and eat it too!
